How to Become a Club Member in Three Easy Steps

First step, we encourage you to just come out to one of our meetings to see what we are about.  We meet nearly every Friday at 12:00 PM at the Kronkosky Place ( please check our calendar on the web site ). You will be our guest on the first visit, just tell the the first member you meet at the door you are visiting to learn about our club. If you know a member, ask them to bring you to a meeting. It’s that easy.

Second step, Take as much time as you need to get to know us, the members and the club. Each Rotary club is unique because each club is made up of people in that community.  Rotary’s motto is "Service Above Self", if you want to make new friends and be involved in your community, Rotary is a great group to join.

Third step, if you feel our club is the right one for you, just let the membership chair know you would like to fill out an application and turn it in.

Below is just a little information about what our club does in our community. This will give you a place to start as you talk to others in the club.

About the International Rotary Club of Boerne
  • Our club was founded in 1973 and has been a strong presence in Boerne ever since.  We are proud to have a strong mix of professionals and leaders in our club.
  • We meet at 12:00 PM on Fridays at the Kronkosky Place.  Meetings last one hour, and usually include an outside speaker/expert on a variety of topics (professional, political, non-profit, etc).
  • Our club has led several projects over the years.  Just to name a few…
    • Local grants & scholarships for exemplary Boerne students (ongoing).
    • Breakfast With Santa – feeding at-risk kids and making sure they have Christmas presents (ongoing).
    • Tree Planting – partnering with local arborists to plant trees around Boerne Lake (ongoing).
    • Hill Country Mission for Health – multi-year project to purchase land, building, and bus for a local health clinic.  The clinic was able to become its own non-profit entity.
    • “Done in a day” projects where our club finds local community project which take about 2 hours.
 
  • Work our club does through Rotary International via contributions or volunteers
    • Water in Africa – creating sustainable water sources in impoverished African communities.
    • Pints for Polio – our local effort to raise money to eradicate polio (ongoing).
 
  • We have fun! 4 to 5 social events each year just to have extra fun. Our Christmas party is the best!
 
  • We also have a few fundraisers to support our projects.
    • Casino Night brings in many locals and out of town guests for a lively night of non cash gaming (for a good cause)
    • Our club is also responsible for putting up many of the flags you see down Main Street for holidays.
