What We Do

Rotary service is organized into four "lanes", described below.

Club Service

Club Service focuses on strengthening fellowship and promotes the development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service.  It involves the activities necessary to make the club function successfully and achieve its goals.

Vocational Service

Vocational Service focuses on

  • Adherence to, and promotion of, the highest ethical standards in all occupations, including fair treatment of employers, employees, associates, competitors, and the public.
  • The recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, not just your own or those that are pursued by Rotarians.
  • The contribution of your vocational talents to the problems and needs of society.

The role of the Boerne Noon Rotary Club is to increase employment opportunities in the community, promote a fair workplace environment, and raise vocational awareness, all through the development of projects that help Rotary members of all job classifications contribute their vocational talents.

The Noon Rotary's Vocational Lane is closely involved with the Boerne High School Interact Club, which provides leadership opportunities complementing Rotary International's spirit of service.

Community Service

The Community Service lane seeks, plans and implements club projects and activities that improve life in the local community.  Particular emphasis is given to helping children, needy families, the aged, the handicapped, and those most in need of assistance.  Rotarians strive to promote the ideal of service in their personal, business, and community lives.

International Service

International Service encompasses efforts to expand Rotary's humanitarian reach around the world and to promote world understanding and peace.  It includes everything from contributing to PolioPlus to helping Rotary Youth Exchange students adjust to their host countries.  Rotarians strive for the advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.  International Service projects are designed to meet the humanitarian needs of people in many lands, with particular emphasis on the most underprivileged children and families in developing countries.
