Boerne Rotarians Race for the Cure - and WIN!

Several Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Boerne participated in the Komen Race for the Cure on Saturday, May 1st. Rotarians pictured above include Emily Swope (bottom, 2nd from left), Kathy Hubbard (bottom, 4th from left), Terri Politi (bottom, 5th from left), and Suzann Woodward (top, 3rd from left). Boerne Sunrise Rotary member Carol Schultz is also pictured (bottom row, far right).
Also participating was Rotarian Steve Mack, along with his entire family. Steve recounts:
"Sandy walked with our two daughters, Katie and Julie (and some other friends). I ran the competitive race with my two sons, Will and Ryan and my son in law, Blake. The two Mack boys did real well with Will finishing first and Ryan in fourth place. However, the official results reflect that the two Mack boys went 1 – 2! http://mychiptime.com/searchevent.php?id=4455
"I did finish the race in 144th position, 14th for the 45 – 49 year old group.
"Overall it was a worthwhile, encouraging, fun outing. And, as Sandy reminded me, it is not about saving body parts, it is about saving lives.
"Thanks to all those who pledged $ to sponsor me in the race. Many have already dropped a check off. Unfortunately I will miss the next couple of club meetings, but can collect pledges next time I am there. Or, pledges can be dropped off at my office. Or, I can come pick them up from any member."
Great job, Rotarians!
